Chanel Rouge Coco Shine

When I heard Chanel was coming out with a glossier and more moisturising version of the fabulous Rouge Coco lipsticks, I really couldn't wait to try them out. Well, they are here on our local shores now!

The colours are really pretty in this collection and there's nothing outrageous or fancy about them. Trust Chanel to stick to safe and classic shades.

What they say:
ROUGE COCO SHINE makes an irresistible desire for lightness flit over your makeup. With its mischievous touch, it glides over lips with all the charm and freshness of a snapshot.

As melt-away as a balm, its lip-embracing texture becomes fluid on contact with the lips and provides a stunning wet effect with natural shine. Deliciously fresh and tender, it delivers an unforgettable sensation of well-being.

Lips are enveloped in the incomparable comfort of continuous 8-hour-long hydration thanks to the Hydratender complex, the secret of softness of the ROUGE COCO range.

Sparkling with vitality, your smile takes on sheer colour, from candid beige to tangy red.
ROUGE COCO SHINE comes in 18 shades infused with luminosity so that your smile adapts to every emotion and desire of each day.
From her first successes to magical encounters, their names tell the story of Coco Chanel at the dawn of her destiny.

Collect colours to your heart’s desire!

My Thoughts:
I am really impressed with the texture of these lipsticks. The Shine versions are definitely a lot more moisturising than the original and they feel very lightweight. I could use them without having to apply a lipbalm first (as how I usually do). These lipsticks are semi-sheer but they still have pretty good colour payoff on me, although my lips are quite pigmented. I fell in love with Boy and Liberte.

Boy is a medium pinkish brown that applies a little more pink than brown. It is a very wearable shade and will suit most skin tones.

Liberte is a sweet coral shade. It may look a little orange from the photo but is actually a rather sheer, juicy coral.

You can probably tell I am crap at describing colours, so I'll show y'all a swatch instead.

I wore Liberte out for lunch today and am so lovin' this colour!

Availability:
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine can be purchased at all Chanel counters for RM90 each. It may seem rather expensive but compared to many departmental store brands these days, the price is not too bad. You are after all paying for a "Chanel" :-)
