Skin79 Super Plus Hot Pink Beblesh Balm

I honestly thought I had hopped off the BB cream bandwagon with my last purchase of BRTC's Jasmine Water BB Cream. A few days ago, I was wandering around aimlessly in a nearby mall and came across a range of Skin79 BB creams at Watsons.

I picked up a slimmer, travel-sized version of the Skin79 Super+ Hot Pink because it was really cute.

Skin79 calls their products Beblesh Balm but it essentially means the same thing as Blemish Balm (ie. BB). I heard somewhere that they had to rename their products as such due to copyright reasons. I won't go into the origins of BB creams and will recommend that you read Wikipedia if you are interested. BB creams are usually marketed as a 3-in-1 type of product, combining the functions of skincare, base and foundation into one.

Product Description:
• Triple function: sun protection (SPF25 PA++), whitening and anti-wrinkle.
• Easy to blend, smoothes out skin imperfections very well.
• Good staying power and coverage.

The colour may not be an exact match when freshly applied but the Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream has a rather magical ability to self-adjust to suit my skin tone. It may look a tad bit grey at first but in less than 5 minutes, it will oxidise and settle into a pretty close match on my face.

I normally treat BB cream as a makeup item, such as foundation or tinted moisturiser, and will not rely on it for skincare properties. Therefore, I would still apply my serum, moisturiser and sunscreen below.

What I really like about this BB cream is how easily it spreads on my skin. The texture is quite smooth and feels a little creamy. The coverage ranges from light to medium, which means it will help hide some minor imperfections but still allow your skin to show through. I usually prefer something natural-looking so I only need to use very little product. It is also moisturising and does not emphasise the dry skin on certain parts of my face and yet leaves a semi-matte finish. Oil control is quite good and I was pleasantly surprised when my face didn't turn into its usual oil-slick by midday.

It has a light floral scent which fades after a short while, so it doesn't bother me. The packaging is hygienic as it comes in a pump canister and is easy to control. Only half a pump is required for my whole face and I pat it on with my fingers.

So far, I've been rather pleased with the Skin79 Super+ Hot Pink BB Cream and have been using it daily for the past 3 days. It has not broken me out and is easy to wear. It ought to suit skin tones ranging from NC20 to NC30 and I will not recommend it for tanner or darker skin as it may end up looking ashy. I have not used it long enough to see if it lives up to its whitening or anti-wrinkle claims but I'll definitely update again if I notice something miraculous happening.

What I Like:
• Contains SPF25 and offers some sun protection.
• Good oil control.
• Doesn't enhance flaky skin, especially on cheeks.
• Smooth texture.
• Light to medium coverage.
• Oxidises and matches skin tone well.
• Skin looks healthy and natural.
• Pretty impressive ingredients (listed below).

What I Don't Like:
• Slightly grey cast but goes away when settles into skin.
• Comes in one shade only (similar to most BB creams).
• Full sized bottle is rather fat, so may not be very portable.
