review : beauty talk oxymask

There are beauty products with so many miraculous claims that it boggles the mind. Beauty Talk OxyMask falls within that category. As I am real easy to please (i.e. sucker) and the Sasa girls know me so well already (i.e. gullible customer no.1), all they had to do was to wave this product in front of me and I will happily trot home with a new goody in the bag. It was quite enjoyable to watch the mask fizzle on its own when they tested it on the back of my hand too.

OxyMask is a self-foaming mask. This means upon applying a layer on your skin, it will foam up and froth away, slowly dissipating after a short while. The bubbly action is supposed to "oxegenate essences into the skin" (one of the many claims by Beauty Talk).

Who's your daddy?

Product Description :
Beauty Talk OxyMask using Perfluorodecalin (Oxygen Carrier) penetrates deep into the skin layer to increase the oxygen level, and our skin cells will possess the amazing self-healing to gain beauty naturally! OxyMask also contains nutrients such as Sodium Hyaluronate, Hayahibara Trehalose, Saccharide Isomerate and etc, which provides whitening, firming, moisturizing and softens the appearance of wrinkles effects.
note : I cannot believe they just inserted "and etc" when listing out some key ingredients in their description... that's just plain laziness.

Pros :
  • Bubbles!
  • Skin feels smoother.
  • Skin looks slightly clearer.
  • Can be entertaining at the end of a rather stressful day.
  • Bubbles!
Cons :
  • Skin feels a wee bit tight after use (for drier skin folks, this may not be a good mask for you).
  • Does not tone down redness (I suffer from rosacea).
  • Expensive.

Directions for use :
Apply a thin layer onto freshly cleansed skin for 3 to 5 minutes. Can be used 3 times a week , or depending on individual needs.

Unfortunately, I threw out the box it came with and cannot locate the full ingredient list. I actually bought this mask a year ago but hardly got around to using it until recently. In all honesty, it's more fun than anything else and I don't think it does a lot although I've read some positive things about it on various forums.

Availability :
Beauty Talk OxyMask can be found at most Sasa stores locally and retails at RM198. It comes in a cute, blue capped 50ml pump bottle. Not a cheap purchase and a bottle will last approximately 3 to 6 months depending on frequency of use.

Have you tried any self-foaming masks before and what did you think of them?
